As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitment under the Health and Education Pillars, the Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation (REREC), in partnership with the Kenya Society for the Blind (KSB), successfully conducted a week-long Free Medical Eye Camp in Ugunja Constituency, Siaya County.
The initiative targeted learners from Simerro Senior School, Rang’ala Boys High School, and Rang’ala Primary School, reaching more than 2,800 students with comprehensive eye screening services. The programme sought to promote early detection and timely management of visual impairments, improve learners’ classroom participation and academic performance, and create more inclusive learning environments.
